We are less than one month until the 2026 NFL Draft takes place in Pittsburgh as prospects hope to have their name called that weekend. And as fate would have it, the next lineage of future ProCanes exhibited their talents in Coral Gables at their Pro Day on Monday. While the coverage was hard to find on ACC Extra Network and there were mixed testing/measurements results throughout the internet, below is a rundown of what you may have missed.
While the spotlight shined on Rueben Bain (and his arm
length) as well as Francis Mauigoa, 16 Miami Hurricane draft hopefuls were in attendance and it ended up being Keionte Scott who stole the show.
Akheem Mesidor, CJ Daniels, Anez Cooper, Markel Bell, Carson Beck, Wesley Bissainthe, and Jakobe Thomas continued to build off of their NFL Combine while C James Brockermeyer, WR Keelan Marion, DL David Blay, TE Alex Bauman, K Carter Davis, and LS Michael Donovan look to sneak into NFL draft scouts’ radars. In fact, Davis impressed with a 64-yard boot. Brockermeyer, Marion, Blay, and Davis all could be late round picks while Bauman and Donovan likely aim to be undrafted free agent pickups. Brockermeyer was a highly touted prospect last season and was invited to the Senior Bowl but snubbed from the Combine.
WHO WAS THERE:
The Carol Soffer Indoor Facility was the place to be on Monday. There were a reported 104 NFL personnel in the building, including some higher ups at organizations, with scouts from all 32 NFL teams in attendance.
The Miami prospects participated in interviews and got face time with the NFL personnel but the most important part of Monday’s process was measurements and testing.
PLAYER MEASUREMENTS:
For the featured performers, the day started with weigh-ins at Soffer Indoor Facility.
Bain did not even participate in the measurements but the talk of the day was his arm length. That said, he did show off his coverage (or receiving) capabilities by dropping back on a route, stretching out his arms to reel in a deep pass.
Other highlights in drills included Beck impressing in his throwing session to Marion and Daniels. The QB class is wide open after Fernando Mendoza and Ty Simpson so it is not out of the question for Beck to be drafted as QB3, which could come as early as the second round for QB-needy NFL teams.

TEST RESULTS:
Testing was next at Soffer facility. A quick word of caution when reviewing the testing numbers: the drills are not an all-or-nothing evaluating mechanism for athletes, but more of a necessary in order to evaluate talent, athleticism, and the like. Rather, NFL scouts and coaches use it as a means of filling any gaps, addressing potential weaknesses, and to ensure the traits match the tape. Even more, that accuracy of the results is sometimes skewed, which is why the broadcast kept incorrectly reporting times/measurements, which resulted in misinformation throughout Twitter/X.
Regardless, the most impressive day was Keionte Scott, who strung together a 4.33 40-yard dash, even though we all know he likely ran faster at the Cotton Bowl against Ohio State. Scott has been pegged as a top-50 2026 NFL Draft prospect but could very well elevate up to first round/early second round potential.
Mauigoa impressed for his size with a 5.12 40 and 29-inch vertical, while the wide receiver tandem of Marion and Daniels registered 4.58 and 4.56, respectively, in their 40-yard dashes.
Brockermeyer is looking to elevate his stock and did just that by putting up 26 reps on the bench press. David Blay one-upped him with 27 reps.

BACKGROUND ON THE 2026 DRAFT PROSPECTS:
The hay is pretty much in the barn for the Miami NFL Draft hopefuls. The players suspected to be drafted this year have already compiled the stats and game tape to impress NFL evaluators as they finished their final audition. Players could opt to meet with NFL teams between now and the draft but it’s a waiting game until the draft in late April. With all that said, I’m sure we will hear about Bain’s arm length ad nauseam between now and then.
After having 10 players invited to the NFL Combine, there’s a real chance Miami has 10+ guys drafted for the first time since 2002. Oh, and all this excitement is occurring right as Miami secured two more commits last night and the next generation begins their quest for a natty in Spring Camp.
GO CANES!
