After an inaugural season bouncing around in different positions at Bayern Munich, Tom Bischof is ready to step into a prominent role in central midfield.
Bayer’s new No. 8 is now the third midfielder next to Aleksandar Pavlović and Joshua Kimmich, and that’s expected to be it outside of young talent and position swap cameos for this season.
“I want to take the next step now. Pavlo, Jo Kimmich and I drive each other on in the center. Everyone wants to play, which makes everyone better and helps the whole
team. I definitely back myself in this role,” Bischof said in comments captured captured via FCBayern.com.
“I’ve often said that you come to Bayern because it’s a dream and because you can win titles here. We did that really well as a team. We had such amazing togetherness last season and a really good season. It was a very good season for me personally, because I learned a lot, developed and played in different positions. That helps me in my career going forward. Now I hope it all gets even better and more titles come.”
Bayern looked like one of the most formidable teams in the Champions League last season before elimination to eventual champions Paris Saint-Germain. Can the Bavarians take the next step now?
