Fulham were said to be bringing in some attacking reinforcements from Chelsea on deadline day, but it looks like they will do so in the form of Tyrique George rather than Raheem Sterling (though the Sterling interest isn’t completely dead yet either).
According to The Athletic, Fulham have agreed a “deal worth £22m” for the Academy winger, who had been linked with AS Roma and RB Leipzig over the past
couple days. There’s no word on what the exact structure of the deal may be, but it does said to include a sell-on clause. Would’ve preferred a buyback, but I guess at least we’ve got the financial angles covered. George is just 19 and with tremendous potential as evidenced by his 27 senior professional appearances for Chelsea already (26 last season, plus the 1 this weekend, subbing in after Liam Delap went down injured).
The medical is ongoing and there should be plenty of time left to finalize the deal before tonight’s deadline.
