The Islanders conclude their road trip in Minnesota, where it seems they used to have lots of roots. But now Anders Lee is with the Mormons, Brock Nelson is with the alpinemen, and Nick Leddy is…reaching a Zen state in a body of water somewhere, surely.
To repeat the approach in Dallas: The Wild are good and the Isles are trying to be. It comes in fits and starts. They had their moments in Dallas but ultimately couldn’t keep up. They had a great start in Nashville and then blew it, needing a rare
shootout sweep to secure the second point.
The Wild are tied with their long-time alpine nemeses for the top of the West, 14 games in. By my math, that means they have 70 games to go, which was a full NHL season once upon a time.
First Islanders Goal picks go here.
