The Carolina Hurricanes continue their annual State Fair road trip on Thursday night against the Colorado Avalanche, and they’ve one 3-1-0 on a brutal six-game swing that g0t started with wins in California
over San Jose, Anaheim and Los Angeles before the team suffered its first loss of the season in Vegas.
The Canes were the last unbeaten team standing in the NHL, but now they get an Avalanche squad that stands along with Vegas as one of the last two teams that has yet to lose in regulation on their home ice.
The Avalanche are coming off of an overtime loss at the hands of the Utah Mammoth on the road on Tuesday, but prior to that, they had won their last three games each by multiple goals.
Colorado has several former Hurricanes including Martin Necas, Jack Drury and Brent Burns. Necas leads Colorado with 11 points comprised of 5 goals and 6 assists. Burns has four assists in seven games, while Drury has a goal and an assist in his six appearances.
