The Miami Dolphins have started the 2026 season 0-4, but that does not mean the fans do not trust that the team is headed in the right direction. Despite the Week 4 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, the team showed growth and development, which are key parts of a rebuild for the league’s youngest roster. The fans seem to appreciate those signs of improvement.
Heading into Week 5, the Dolphins will face a struggling Cincinnati Bengals team. After a 2-0 start to the year, they have dropped their last two
contests to fall to 2-2 and now sit last in the AFC North. Cincinnati will come into this game looking to take advantage of a winless Dolphins team and right the ship. Miami should expect the Bengals to throw everything they have at this game. Can Miami do enough to pull off the Week 5 upset as they head into their bye week in Week 6?
According to the oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook, the Bengals are seven-point favorites for today’s game.
Dolphins fan confidence
A 0-4 start to the season typically tanks the fan trust in a team. For example, the SB Nation Reacts fan confidence survey for the Los Angeles Chargers this week came back with just six percent of their fans trusting in the direction of the team. Beginning the year with four-straight losses is typically time for the fan base to panic.
Not when it comes to the Dolphins in 2026. Miami is expected to struggle this year. They tore the team down to the bare bones during the offseason and have started rebuilding, but it will likely take more than one offseason. The positives this year are the experience a team built primarily around rookie and second-year players can gain and the growth they can show. They are doing exactly that, and the fan confidence continues to grow with them.
Last week, 79 percent of responses said fans trust the team, just one percent below our season high. This week, we blew past that mark. Miami may be 0-4, but 87 percent of the fans seem to think the team is headed in the right direction.
