Well, if you have been a fan of the Tennessee Titans for any length of time, you knew there was no way a rookie wide receiver was going to make it through the season without suffering an injury. That’s just the way things go for this franchise. Robert Saleh said today that Carnell Tate won’t practice today, and that his status for Sunday is in doubt. Given that Tate hasn’t practiced at all this week, it is safe to say he will be listed as OUT when the final injury report comes out this afternoon.
Tate not being out there will open up some opportunities for Elic Ayomanor, Calvin Ridley (if he is available), and/or Chimere Dike. Mike Borgonzi would love to trade Ridley, so it might not be a bad idea to funnel some targets his way on Sunday. I’d like to see them get Dike more opportunities in the passing game. He’s never going to be a #1 or #2 receiver, but they should be able to draw some things up to get him the ball in space.
Tyjae Spears is also likely out again. Last week, Michael Carter played the Spears role as the third down back. Nick Singleton isn’t there yet as a pass protector, but for this team it really feels like a waste to be giving Carter snaps over Singleton.
