North Dakota St. became the fourth team this season to sit atop the Women’s Other Top 25. The Bison moved up from three to one this week. They have won 23 straight games, which is the second longest streak in the country behind UConn.
Jory Collins’ team is 41 in the NET and 51 in BartTorvik. NDSU is 26th in adjusted offensive efficiency and 13th in effective field goal percentage, per Torvik.
Rhode Island and Richmond were in the top two spots and entered last week undefeated against the rest of the A10.
All that changed as they suffered three losses over the last seven days. Rhody dropped its first conference game at LaSalle Wednesday. The Spiders suffered losses at George Mason and at George Washington.
The Rams and Spiders fell to four and six, respectively. They play at Richmond Wednesday.
Fairfield moved up to No. 2 this week, and Princeton elevated to third. South Dakota St. joined them in the top five at No. 5.
George Mason came in at seven, one spot ahead of where it was last week. San Diego St. was the lone team to join the top 10 and was eighth. Columbia followed, while Rice held steady at No. 10.
Miami (OH) made the biggest jump as the RedHawks ranked 13th, up eight spots. They are 22-5 and in sole possession of first place in the MAC. Glenn Box’s group completed a season sweep of Ball St. with a 68-64 win over the Cardinals Saturday. Ball St. was one spot behind in the ranking.
Four new teams joined the poll this week. Murray St. came in at No. 19. Navy followed at 20. Davidson returned to the Other Top 25 at No. 22. Louisiana Tech was 24th. They replaced Santa Clara, Arkansas St., Massachusetts and Idaho.
