Fernando Mendoza has definitely felt the heat of the NFL so far this preseason.
The Las Vegas Raiders’ rookie quarterback, and No. 1 overall pick, has at least two quarters of both preseason game. He has not faced No. 1 defenses nor has he played with the Raiders’ first-unit offense. Still. he is feeling big defensive pressure.
According to NFL analyst Warren Sharp, Mendoza has been facing among the most pressure of any quarterback this preseason. He has been hit nine times.
And this:
Again, Mendoza hasn’t worked with the Raiders’ first-team offensive line in games and he has played well when protected. So, there isn’t a lot to worry about yet. The key is the prized prospect getting good protection when he does play in the regular season
