In case you missed it, ESPN recently aired a segment featuring senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler with some very favorable comments about Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.
“Caleb Williams, right now, is looked at around the league as a Top 10 quarterback and one of the very best closers in the NFL,” Folwer began the segment.
A top 10 QB heading into his third year as a pro, with one of the best offensive minds and play-callers at the helm in Ben Johnson, is why so many pundits are bullish on the Bears.
Fowler goes on to compare Williams’ play-making ability to one of the best quarterbacks in the game today.
“I’ve polled people around the league about quarterbacks, and where they rank, and even though he’s [Williams] erratic at times, he’s the type of player that can make plays only Patrick Mahomes could make before him. He’s got that sort of ceiling right now.”
Sure, there are things in his game he needs to tighten up and improve on, but that’s where Ben and the offensive coaching staff come in. Caleb wants to be great, and he’s in the right environment to do so.
With so many league insiders, NFL players, coaches, and analysts all positive on Caleb’s future, let’s not get too worked up with the trolls trying to poo-poo our Bears buzz this offseason.
