The Los Angeles Chargers aren’t playing football this weekend, which is probably a good thing for the fan base at this point in the year.
The Chargers are 0-6, and it hasn’t been a fun ride for most of them. This weekend gives them an opportunity to watch other teams to see what life is like outside Boltland. Here’s a look at three games to keep an eye on this weekend.
Dolphins vs. Jets, 10 a.m. PT (CBS)
I usually wouldn’t recommend this game to many people, but for Chargers fans, there are a few stakes in this one. If the Dolphins were
to beat the Jets on the road, the Chargers would officially be in possession of the No. 1 overall pick. Technically, the Chargers have the selection based on a strength-of-schedule tiebreaker, but this would automatically make them the last winless team in the league. There might be a badge of honor to wear with that.
Packers vs. Lions, 1:25 p.m. PT (FOX)
The national game of the week on Fox puts two division rivals against one another, and both teams have been playing pretty well as of late. The Packers have won three straight games, including a 23-13 victory against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football last week. The Lions are fresh off their bye week and last played two weeks ago, when they scored 45 points to beat the Arizona Cardinals.
The Lions’ offense is electric, having scored at least 26 points in each of their first five games. If they were to bring the fireworks against the Packers, it should be one of the best games of the week.
Chiefs vs. Seahawks, 5:20 p.m. PT (NBC)
This game has a bit of entertainment value, as well as a divisional watch, to it. The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs are putting their perfect record on the line as they visit the defending champion Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football.
The Seahawks have dropped two straight while the Chiefs eye their sixth victory of the season. It also features Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III returning to the Seahawks for the first time since hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. Walker signed a three-year contract with the Chiefs in free agency after the Seahawks were unwilling to give him a new deal during the offseason.
