UPDATE
Well that didn’t take long for the forecast to make a drastic turn for the worse. What originally looked like just another humid football game under the lights in South Bend… may now be just another game night with rain and thunderstorms.
This has the potential to obviously affect the fan experience — as well as what happens on the field. We will continue to monitor as the week goes on.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are riding high to start the 2026 college football season. The No. 3 ranked Irish are 2-0
and have outscored its opponents 95-13 in two blowout wins. You’d think things might get tougher this week with the word, “rival” thrown around, but the Irish are almost 30 point favorites against the Michigan State Spartans.
Notre Dame is hot right now, but what about Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday night?
The heat and humidity of August is still in the room with us. On Saturday there’s a slight chance for rain, but most of that moisture is just going to be the “make you feel a lot hotter” kind. With 76% cloud cover and 22 mph wind gusts, however, you might feel pretty good (especially with a cold PBR in your hand).
As for the game, we will start to see the tempertaures come down once the sun goes away. While it won’t be a crisp night with the humidity so high, it should still feel fairly comfortable for players and fans alike.
