In case you hadn’t heard, WINGERS are a major transfer priority for Liverpool this season. Left wing, right wing, doesn’t matter. If they’re a wide attacking player, they’re linked. Throughout the summer, Liverpool have been linked to pretty much every winger on the continent to come in, all while fans have been begging for Cody Gakpo to go out.
So the latest rumor to hit the rumor transfer mill is 18-year-old Polish wunderkind, Oskar Pietuszewski—who yes, is a winger—for the cut rate price of only
£51.2 million (€60 million).
Not going to lie, this rumor feels like a major stretch, one that only comes about after already naming every single winger in Europe for months while Liverpool keep their transfer plans close to their chest.
Anyway, Pietuszewski moved to Porto in January, and has been impressive for his age. In just 16 appearances—11 starts and just 820 minutes in total—he scored 3 goals and added 2 assists. His efforts earned him a call up to the Polish national team, playing two matches as a substitute in World Cup qualifiers.
Prior to his January move, Pietuszewski played two seasons for Polish side Jagiellonia Białystok.
This would obviously be a huge outlay for a young winger with not even a 1000 minutes of senior, top-flight football under his belt. But it is a rumor that is out there!
