Newcastle United’s efforts to grow its commercial operation continue behind the scenes, with increasing revenue away from the pitch remaining an important part of the club’s long-term development.
The Daily Mail’s Craig Hope reported that Newcastle will announce a new multi-million-pound partnership with Coca-Cola this week, bringing one of the world’s biggest drinks brands into the club’s expanding commercial portfolio.
Coca-Cola will replace Sela as the sponsor of the St James’ STACK fan zone as part
of the agreement.
“Newcastle will confirm a new multi-million-pound partnership with Coca-Cola this week,” Hope reported.
The agreement represents another commercial move negotiated under CEO David Hopkinson, who has made increasing Newcastle’s revenues a key part of his work since arriving at St. James’ Park.
It will not be the only partnership Newcastle has secured. Hope also revealed that the club has signed a new multi-year agreement extending its existing partnership with betting and entertainment brand BetMGM.
The precise financial values and lengths of the agreements were not disclosed in Hope’s report, beyond the Coca-Cola partnership being described as a multi-million-pound deal.
Hope reported that further partnership announcements are expected over the coming months, suggesting Hopkinson and Newcastle’s commercial operation still have additional agreements in the pipeline.
