The NFL is spending the summer releasing its top 100 players of 2025. So far, they’ve released about 30 players and we know the only Chicago Bears player so far is Montez Sweat who was ranked at 91.
But here’s where it gets interesting: Jordan Love was unveiled today as the 72nd-best player in the league. My first reaction was, will NFL players rank Caleb Williams above Jordan Love?
Some people might have the reaction that Williams just may not be in the top 100 yet, but I would counter that with the fact
that Bryce Young made the top 100 list. So far the QBs that have been unveiled are Jordan Love, Brock Purdy, Baker Mayfield, and Bryce Young.
I have a hard time imagining that the players are going to rank Caleb Williams above Jordan Love. If I think like a player, what QBs, based largely on their 2025 performances, would be ranked ahead of that group of QBs? The list I came up with was Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Matthew Stafford, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Dak Prescott, Drake Maye, Justin Herbert, Sam Darnold, Jalen Hurts, Bo Nix, Trevor Lawrence, Jared Goff, and Caleb Williams.
Those QBs I listed aren’t in any particular order, but I have a hard time imagining any of those quarterbacks would be listed below Bryce Young.
That certainly makes you wonder just how far up on the list Caleb Williams will be. Being that players watch a lot of highlights because they are playing on Sundays and don’t watch full games of other teams, and given that Caleb’s highlights are absurd, I think he’s going to be very high on this list.
I expect Caleb Williams to be top 30, perhaps even in the top 20. I don’t think he will be in the top 10, however.
But all that aside, let’s just stop and take a minute that after 35 years of the Green Bay Packers dominating the QB position over the Chicago Bears, that the NFL looks at their two current QBs and says the Chicago Bears QB is superior.
What a time to be alive! Enjoy your summer, Bears fans!
