Tonight’s (Sept. 23) episode of Dynamite featured AEW World Champion Will Ospreay teaming up with his new United Empire ally “Speedball” Mike Bailey to score a win over Death Riders Claudio Castagnoli and Gabe Kidd.
The finish saw Ospreay pull off a nifty counter of Claudio’s popular Giant Swing.
Jon Moxley is challenging Ospreay for that AEW world title
this Saturday night (Sept. 26) in the main event of the All Out pay-per-view. Mox was sitting on commentary for Ospreay’s tag match tonight, and Will sent him a message on the mic after the match was over.
Ospreay thanked Mox for everything he’s done as The Ace of AEW since its inception in 2019, which includes breaking Will and forcing him to level up.
However, one thing they both know is that it’s all about who holds the AEW world championship, which means Moxley is the one now being dumped into the ocean with a white shark when he challenges for Ospreay’s title at All Out.
Mox responded by asking Ospreay if he really feels like the world champion in this scenario. Death Rider henchman Gabe Kidd attacked Will from behind at that point, only to get taken out quickly by the world champ. Ospreay got back on the mic and said, “You’re damn fucking right I feel like the champion!”
Will Ospreay sounds very confident that he’s already taken Moxley’s spot as the face of AEW, and his win at All Out will leave no doubt about it.
