Eindhovens Dagblad journalist Rik Elfrink has been all over Bayern Munich’s rumored interest in Ismael Saibari, but the Dutch journalist also had some other news — the Bavarians are kicking the tires once again on Sergiño Dest.
X account @iMiaSanMia captured the information from Elfrink:
Ismael Saibari is not the only PSV player Bayern are interested in. The club has also expressed their interest in right-back Sergiño Dest (25). The US international is on their list. Still no negotiations with PSV.
Sergiño Dest would cost €20-25m. He’s on Bayern’s list, but it’s uncertain whether a move will go through. Bayern would first want to sell a player after signing Saibari before proceeding with a potential move for Dest. The full-back is looking to sort his future after the World Cup.
Dest has mostly played as a right-back (158 career games), but he has played 73 career games as left-back, which could make him an appealing utility man on the backline. At that price, Bayern Munich, who has had a long-term interest in Dest dating back at least six years, might be interested in making a depth move for the defender.
