It appears Juventus have zeroed in on who they want to replace Igor Tudor as manager.
So much so that a contract could very well be on the table, with an agreement looking quite possible with their current conditions being thrown around by the Italian media.
According to multiple reports, Juventus are set to offer the 66-year-old Spalletti a contract until the end of the 2025-26 season with an option for another further season (or two) based on certain performance- and results-based objectives. The
main one, according to reports, is getting Juventus into the top four — they are currently in eighth place, albeit just three points off fourth-place Inter Milan — and qualifying for next season’s Champions League. Depending on the source, that option for beyond June could either be for one or two years, with the possibility of Spalletti’s contract going until 2028 if it’s a two-year option that kicks in.
Juventus will reportedly offer Spalletti a salary worth around €3 million net — which is the same figure in which Tudor was making following his contract extension that was agreed to back in June prior to the Club World Cup.
As Monday has gone on, it has become pretty clear that Juventus general manager Damien Comolli has focused on bringing on Spalletti as compared to other rumored candidates in Roberto Mancini and Raffaele Palladino. It has been reported earlier in the day that Spalletti has recently turned down approaches from Saudi Arabian clubs about possibly coming to the Middle East, with his hopes of making a return to managing at the club level in Italy following his high-profile exit with the Italian national team.
It looks like that return could very well be at Juventus.
Juventus will have Next Gen head coach Massimo Brambilla fill in on the sidelines for Wednesday’s game against Udinese at the Allianz Stadium. If Juve are able to finalize a deal with Spalletti ahead of the visit from Udinese, he could very well be n the stands in Turin and take control of the squad come Thursday as they turn their attention toward the weekend’s fixture on the road at Cremonese.
