Missouri track & field delivered a strong showing during day four of the Drake Relays, claiming two program records and placing nearly every athlete in the top-10 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Day Four Tiger Highlights
Tresnjo’s High Jump Achievement
Sophomore Marlena Tresnjo took an astonishing third place finish in the women’s high jump, with her mark of 1.83 meters. Tresnjo’s result was Mizzou’s No.5 program record in this event. Her previous record was 1.80 meters at the Show-Me Showdown during the indoor season earlier this year.
“It’s been so fun to see how they’ve done, especially on the traveling side,” distance coach Kyle Levermore said. “ I’m just so amazed at how many good athletes we have, besides just running, we have so many good athletes.”
Women’s Hammer Throw
Petra Gombas placed third overall in the women’s hammer throw, with her stellar mark of 59.15 meters. This result was Mizzou’s No.8 program record in this event. Star athlete Reagan Kimrey took eighth with her throw of 55.19 meters.
Women’s Javelin Throw
Adrienne Russell claimed a third place finish in the women’s javelin, with a mark of 45.17 meters. Marysa Fieg finished right behind her in fourth, with her result of 44.77 meters. In ninth, Nora Hark finished with a throw of 42.52 meters. Rounding it out for the Tigers was Lexi Craig in 17th.
Men’s Distance Medley Race
The Tigers blazed through the distance medley, placing third overall with a time of 9:43.28. Mizzou’s squad consisted of Lasse Funck, who won the men’s 1,500 on Friday, Dillon Leacock, who won the men’s 400-meter hurdles on Friday, Finnian Russell and Carter Spradling.
Robert’s 100-Meter Dash
Senior Robert Hines took third overall in his dash, with a time of 10.55. This result was not his fastest time on the track, but well enough for him to take a top three spot in the race.
Men’s Hammer Throw Championship
Sam Innes finished fourth overall in the men’s hammer throw, with a mark of 68.69 meters. Innes has reached higher marks this season, with a 70.36-meter throw at the LSU Battle on the Bayou earlier this month.
Women’s Javelin Throw Championship
Val Galligan took fifth for the Tigers, with her mark of 45.87 meters. Right behind her was Morgan Cannon in sixth, with a throw of 45.83 meters.
