Barcelona won their first game away to Getafe since 2019 on Saturday to take another giant step towards winning La Liga for the second straight year, and The Wizard was back to his best as Pedri played an outstanding match at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.
After a couple of subpar recent performances by his standards, including in the Champions League exit against Atlético Madrid, Pedri displayed every aspect of his game on Saturday, controlling the pace of the game, recovering balls in midfield, and delivering
some sensational passes in the final third, including a beautiful assist for Fermín López’s opener. He was so good that even the Getafe fans in the stadium had no choice but to applaud him as he was substituted in the 88th minute.
Pedri has been superb pretty much all season and will undoubtedly be a key contributor in Spain’s World Cup journey this summer. And who knows, if he turns out to be La Roja’s outstanding player and they claim the trophy, then maybe the Ballon d’Or could also be in his sights.
So today’s Barca Blaugranes Question of the Day is:
Is Pedri the best midfielder in the world and does he deserve to be in the Ballon d’Or conversation?
