Game Summary:
The first half started well with NC State taking an 11—2 lead, and then Notre Dame’s Cole Certa hit 3 consecutive 3PT shots to cut the score to 13-11. At that point the score stayed close, Notre Dame tied it at 25. NC State shot only 50% (3-6) from the free throw line and was out rebounded 9-15. Quadir Copeland had 6 assists in the half, Ven Lubin led all scoring with 12. The Wolfpack had 7 steals and only 2 turnovers. Sagnia appeared to have injured his leg and was taken to the locker
room.
Notre Dame asserted themselves on the boards in the second half while simultaneously NC State went 2-14 from 3PT. The combination kept the Irish close. At the 2:34 mark ND cut it to 81-76 and Coach Wade called a timeout. The Wolfpack then proceeded to miss 3 3PT shots and a 2PT shot. With the score tied at 81, and 12 seconds left, Coach Wade called another timeout. Darrion Williams missed a 3PT shot at the buzzer.
NC State struggled during overtime, shooting 2-11 (18%) and only 1-8 (13%) from 3PT. Notre Dame’s Cole Certa hit 3 3PT shots and the Irish outscored the Wolfpack 15-9.
