Jonathan Hernández pitched the final two innings of the Dodgers’ loss on Monday night at Wrigley Field, the eighth time in 13 appearances this year he’s finished off a game, most of them lopsided scores.
What was notable was Hernández wearing number 26 on Monday, after getting called back up from Triple-A Oklahoma City. That was different from earlier this season, when he wore 29. But the Dodgers added Sunday added a two-time Cy Young Award winner in Tarik Skubal, and 29 is the only number he’s ever
worn in the major leagues.
