Bayern Munich will start its journey in the DFB-Pokal playing against newly promoted 2. Bundesliga side VfL Osnabrück. The Bavarians will have to travel to Osnabrück to take on the 2. Bundesliga side, but their opponents seem to be very excited for the occasion. As fans know, even the best of teams can fall early in the cup to underdog sides.
VfL Osnabrück understand the power of being underdogs, when they famously knocked Bayern out of the DFB-Pokal in 1978. While it would take another miracle for
that to happen again, the club is trying to recapture some magic.
As we learned earlier today, VfL Osnabrück will be paying tribute to that sensational night by wearing special shirts against Bayern in the upcoming match.
