It is the final Saturday before the Cleveland Browns return to action for the 2026 NFL season.
A different way to phrase that would be “before the Browns ruin the next 16 Sundays and one Thursday night,” but that seems a bit harsh for so early in the morning.
Is it going to be a standout season for the Browns? Probably not. Will the team be watchable? Quite possibly. Do they have plenty of players outside of the quarterback room that are fun to root for? Most definitely.
That is pretty much where we
are right now with this team. Everyone – from owner Jimmy Haslam to general manager Andrew Berry, head coach Todd Monken, the players, and even the ball boys – knows that the Browns are not going to accomplish anything until they fix the quarterback position. And they all know that is not happening until the 2027 NFL Draft.
But that doesn’t mean we all can’t enjoy what is about to take place over the next 17 games. Win or lose, the Browns have the unfailing capacity to show their fans things that they can never unsee. And spending Sunday afternoons watching football is better than not spending Sunday afternoons watching football, so just go with the flow and find the happy moments where you can.
No matter what, Dawgs By Nature will be there with you every step of the way. So pull up a chair, grab a beer (preferably a pumpkin ale), and let’s get ready to watch some Browns football!
But before we do that, let’s run through today’s edition of the Saturday Dawg Chow.
