Barcelona manager Hansi Flick replaced Eric Garcia with Marc Bernal at half-time of Wednesday’s Champions League win over Copenhagen.
Garcia has been an ever-present for Flick this season but only lasted 45 minutes of the match. It initially seemed to be a tactical substitution but it seems Garcia was taken off as he was feeling dizzy after taking a blow to the head in the first half.
According to RAC1, Barcelona’s coaching staff decided they were unwilling to take any risks with Garcia and ensured
he went off at the break as a precautionary move.
The substitution, and Flick’s half-time team talk, seemed to work wonders for Barcelona who went in at the break 1-0 down to the visitors.
Yet Robert Lewandowski fired Barcelona back on level terms within minutes of the restart before Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Marcus Rashford finished off Copenhagen to secure a win and a top eight finish.
