TNA’s roster moves continue with the release of Eric Young.
TNA put out the following statement:
TNA Wrestling has come to terms on the release of Eric Young, effective immediately. EY has had a legendary TNA career, including twice as TNA World Champion. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.
Young’s time in TNA ended by putting over youngster Ricky Sosa on the pre-show to Slammiversary. Sosa caught Young for the Blue Thunder Bang finisher to win. This is Sosa’s first big win to establish his spot
in TNA.
Young is considered a homegrown original. He is a two-time world champion in TNA with his wins coming in 2014 and 2020. Young’s résumé in the company also includes X-Division champion, four-time TNA world tag team champion, two-time NWA world tag team champion, Knockouts tag team champion with ODB, and TNA world beer drinking champion.
