We have not heard much about the Arizona Cardinals staff under Mike LaFleur, and that makes sense when you consider they have not even had an introductory press conference for their new head coach.
However,
we know that they will not have veteran defensive coordinator Gus Bradley.
So, who will fill the coordinator roles of the Arizona Cardinals under LaFleur?
One name being bandied about as a potential special teams coordinator is Michael Ghobrial, the former special teams coordinator of the New York Giants.
The Giants were a top 10 special teams unit in 2025 per SI’s special teams rankings, which would be a big jump from 30th under Jeff Rodgers in 2025.
LaFleur and Ghobrial have a connection as they were both on the New York Jets staff in 2021 and 2022, before LaFleur went back to the Rams. Ghobrial was the assistant special teams coordinator, and before that worked with Hawaii and Washington State as special teams coordinator in college.
We will see if this comes to fruition, but Ghobrial could be the first name on the Cardinals new staff.
One name that will not be back though is Drew Terrell, who has taken the Buffalo Bills wide receivers coaching position. Good luck to Drew in his next stop.
