Devastating news for two of Bayern Munich’s finest attackers came just a few months back when Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl were both ruled out of participating in the world’s biggest tournament, having to watch Germany from home after being injured. Fortunately, a lot of time has passed since, and fans might see these fans back on the pitch soon.
According to reports from Kicker (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Lennart Karl is set to resume full training in the coming week. If everything goes to plan,
Bayern are hoping that the wonderkid will be back in the squad to make a short appearance in the Bundesliga opener against VfB Stuttgart on Friday. As for Serge Gnabry, he won’t be back quite as soon. While Gnabry is sprinting again, the Stuttgart game is too tight of a timeline for him.
It is certainly great to see the two German attackers back on track, there is a reason why Bayern has finally made the investment in attack depth. While Bayern is recovering from some key injuries, it is naive to think more problems won’t arise later in the season. However, for the first time in what seems like forever, Bayern should have the depth to deal with those setbacks finally.
