Good morning, Canes.
Here we go to start your Sunday:
Miami keeps on winning, beats Virginia Tech 34-17
Miami kept the wins coming, beating Virginia Tech Hokies team 34-17 on the road in Blacksburg on Saturday afternoon.

Miami is now 9-2 (5-2 in ACC) on the year, but we all know that’s not good enough. Miami needs to win out — and get TONS of help elsewhere — to have a chance at the College Football Playoffs. And now, with
the Committee going against their stated selection criteria to drone on about “the eye test” instead of tangible results, and with ESPN shit talking Miami on literally every game broadcast on their networks on Saturday in a clear and coordinated effort at the behest of the CFP, this is setting up for them to craft whatever narrative they need to exclude Miami from the playoffs yet again.
The only thing Miami can do is keep winning. But, even with winning, I fear the damage has already been done. Anyways, on to the next point…
Next up: road trip to Pittsburgh
The season’s not done and Miami will keep on fighting!
Their opponent next week: the Pitt Panthers. Fresh off a 42-28 win at Georgia Tech, a win Miami needed to have a chance to still make the ACC Championship Game, Pitt comes into next week’s finale with the same goal in mind.
Pitt has ruined Miami’s season in the final week of the year before, and the Panthers hope to do so again this week. Yes, I’m talking about the 2017 season, when Pitt started a true freshman for the first time and ruined Miami’s undefeated season. Been tiptoeing around it on the site for weeks. Had to finally come out and say it.
Obviously, Miami needs to continue to play with the joy, freedom, and EXCELLENCE of the last couple of weeks. Pitt is the toughest test for this team since they faced SMU all the way back on November 1st, and the result of this game will be a major determining factor in Miami’s postseason placement, with many options possible.
Miami open as favorites over Pitt
As expected, because they’re the more talented team in every game they play all year long, Miami are favorites over Pitt in week 14. Miami has been favored in every game since the opener against Notre Dame — a game that Miami WON, though the CFP committee likes to conveniently ignore this fact while giving ND credit for a “good loss” but giving Miami no credit for beating the Irish.
“Cool story, Cam”. I know, I know. Just sharing the number, same as I have every week this season. Do with that information as you will.
Other scores around the ACC…
Final: NC State 21, Florida State 11 (Friday Night) — NC State did everything they could to give this game away, but FSU did MORE and actually gave it away. 2 years without a road win for the Noles. Keep Norvell forever.
Final: #9 Notre Dame 70, Syracuse 7 — I have nothing to say about this game. Moving on.
Final: Pitt 42, #16 Georgia Tech 28 — Pitt raced out to a 28-0 lead, then looked shaky for a bit. Then GT threw a pick-6 on 3rd and goal from the 5 and that was about it. Pitt scored late to get back to a 2 TD margin and secured the win, keeping both themselves and Miami in position for a shot at the ACC Championship Game.
Final: SMU 38, Louisville 6 — I don’t care that Louisville was without 2 RBs and benched their mid QB in this game. They’re mid, and SMU did to them what we should have done. It infuriates me to no end that we found a way to lose to these bums. Truly makes me want to put my hand through a wall when I remember we lost to this team. AGAIN. SMU handled business, but I guarantee you the CFP committee doesn’t rank them at 8-3 this week so they can keep saying Miami’s only lost to “unranked teams”.
Final: Wake Forest 52, Delaware 14 — Good win, Wake. Do it again next week vs. Duke. Please and thank you.
Final: Duke 32, North Carolina 25 — Duke keeps Carolina from a bowl game, and stays alive in the pursuit of a potential spot in the ACC Championship Game.
Final: Clemson 35, Furman 10 — Peak Clemson wouldn’t let Furman score 7, let alone 10. Just saying…
Final: Stanford 31, Cal 10 — I did NOT see this result coming in The Big Game this year. Not at all. This is a really, REALLY terrible loss for Cal, rivalry game or not. This is BAD bad. And congrats to Stanford, who looked like the worst team in the country for the majority of this year.
