It’s been too long since we talked about Erik Lamela, who is now a kitman for a Mexican football club.
The sharp-elbowed Argentine retired from life as a professional footballer in 2025, but he’s still involved with the game. For those who’ve been following his journey, Coco joined Sevilla’s coaching staff.
Lamela is now continuing his pursuit to obtain his coaching license.
Lamela has since joined Mexican side Monterrey but lacks some of the qualifications needed to actually be on the team. So as he’s
working his way towards a Uefa Pro License, he is working at the club as a kitman, according to Portuguese outlet record.pt.
A silly workaround to accomplish the same feat that could otherwise be done in a much easier fashion? That sounds like Erik Lamela, the two-time rabona scoring Tottenham folk hero.
I’m just glad there is still a place in this sport for Lamela, who cited physical issues as the reason behind his retirement. So let’s have Coco work up his coaching license and establish a career before leading Spurs to the quadruple in 2035.
