It has been quite a week for Carolina Basketball. In the good news department, the Heels received a commitment from Dylan Mingo, who is one of the best guards in the 2026 recruiting class. The bad news, of course, is that the Heels are coming off a loss to NC State and will have to take on Syracuse shorthanded once again.
It’s hard to know what to believe and what not to believe when it comes to the Caleb Wilson and Henri Veesaar situation. Wilson has allegedly been practicing, but was listed as OUT
for today’s game. Henri Veesaar, who we’ve received the most confusing communication about so far, is listed as questionable. Because Hubert Davis will likely not have both guys today, the name of the game is finding a way to get everyone else to step up and do their job. Things were embarrassingly bad against the Wolfpack, and whether State fans want to admit it or not, a sizable amount was the fault of the guys in Carolina blue. Offense was shockingly stagnant, the defense was bad, and they had a hard time hanging onto the basketball. Sure, give those guys in Raleigh credit for what they did, but the image of multiple players essentially playing iso ball instead of actually running proven offensive plays made me want to break my TV.
That said, here’s hoping today will be better. Feel free to hang out with us in the comments section, and as always, we will be back after the game with post-game analysis and takes. Until then, Go Heels!
