The Dallas Cowboys’ 2026 training camp began a week ago, with practice reports already rolling in for our ravenous consumption. As we shift to analyzing whatever nuggets we can get and speculating over decisions to come, we wanted to bring this rundown series to a close. Here are the players we didn’t get to, with some brief thoughts on each of their prospects this summer.

RB Dominic Richardson

An undrafted rookie out of Tulsa, Richardson plays with power and aggression but lacks the speed and agility to make big plays.

Also a willing pass blocker, he has traits that Klayton Adams likes and could help him compete for the bottom of the roster, especially if he can block and cover on special teams. But it will be tough overcoming this year’s competition, making the practice squad a more likely goal but still a big win if Richardson can get there.

WR Camden Brown
WR Traeshon Holden
WR Jaden Smith

Brown and Smith are both new to Dallas. Brown is a UDFA out of Georgia Southern, who transferred there for his final college season after some slow years at Auburn. He’s got solid size and noted ball skills, but a lack of overall athleticism that helped him go undrafted last April.

Smith is listed at 6’6”, so it’s not hard to guess why teams are interested. He went undrafted last season and signed with Tampa Bay, but spent the year on injured reserve. The Bucs waived him in early April, and he remained unemployed until Dallas signed him in June. If there’s an NFL player in that big body, Smith could move up the ladder quickly as a potential help for the redzone offense.

Traeshon Holden is much closer to a roster spot than the other two, if last year means anything. One of the stars of the 2025 camp, Holden didn’t make the roster but spent the entire year on the practice squad. While most of last year’s WR cast is back, guys like Jonathan Mingo and KaVontae Turpin have looser grips on their offensive roles, with Mingo fighting for a spot in general. If Holden builds on last summer, he could be as competitive for the last WR spot as anyone.

G Nick Leverett

Glaser and Leverett are both older prospects hoping that experience will help them find a way onto the roster, or at least the practice squad. Leverett was actually there for Dallas last season, signing in mid-November but never getting called up for a game. He does have 12 career starts, mostly with Tampa Bay in 2022. Glaser has less NFL experience, only starting one game for the Jets in 2023, but got more exposure this past spring in the UFL. Dallas signed Glaser shortly after backup center Matt Hennessy went to IR with an injury in OTAs, which may speak to Glaser’s intended role in 2026 or at least an area where he can compete.

Both of these guys are longshots given the current interior line depth. T.J. Bass may be the primary backup at both guard and center, and Trevor Keegan was on last year’s roster before injury. With Nathan Thomas and Ajani Cornelius also offering some guard potential, Dallas is more likely to lean into their versatility so that they can go longer at offensive tackle.

OT Marcellus Johnson
OT Shiyazah Pete

Speaking of tackles, these two prospects probably won’t benefit from an extra spot on the 53. If the Cowboys do go long there, it should be to facilitate having Thomas as the swing while Cornelius and Drew Shelton are protected on the roster for development. But at least with Pete, a 23-year-old UDFA who’s listed at a whopping 6’9”, you could see him worming his way into that developmental pipeline. Johnson, at 26 years old, would need to offer an immediate depth upgrade to find job security.

DT Kelvin Gilliam
DT Adedayo Odeleye

Along with Tommy Dunn and Jay Toia, Gilliam and Odeleye are part of a young prospect pack trying to push for a final roster spot at defensive tackle. Gilliam and Dunn are both undrafted rookies, with Gilliam profiling as a stout run defender and surprisingly athletic for a near 300-pounder, though lacking much in the way of pass-rushing ability. He will likely be pushing for a similar role to what Jonathan Bullard and L.T. Overton will be serving in the scheme, with the practice squad his most likely destination.

Odeleye is the Cowboys’ 91st player, coming from the International Player Pathway Program and giving the team a roster exemption for the offseason. He has been around professional football since 2021, when he played in the European League, and has since seen time in training camps and on practice squads for the Texans, Ravens, and, as of last year, the Cowboys. He turns 29 in October, so this summer may be the end of the line.

LB Langston Patterson

A starter and captain for most of the last three years at Vanderbilt, Patterson was the field general for the Commodores. He’s on the small side at a listed 6’0” and 229 lbs., and lacks any extra athleticism for it. But with high football IQ and leadership skills, plus experience playing the Mike, he could be competitive at what’s still a fairly thin ILB group for the Cowboys.

CB Trikwese Bridges
CB Ameer Speed

Bridges and Speed are fighting for space in a crowded CB room. Bridges was a seventh-round pick last year by the Chargers, who Dallas claimed off waivers at final cuts. He appeared in 16 games and even started two due to injuries. Bridges had an interception in the Cowboys’ loss to the Broncos, but was otherwise not very notable in his playing time.

Speed is new to Dallas but has been bouncing around the NFL since 2023, when he was a sixth-round pick by New England. He made the roster but was waived in late October, then claimed by the Colts. He also spent time on the Bears’ practice squad in 2024, when Matt Eberflus was their head coach. Eberflus had already been fired by the Cowboys months before they signed Speed in June.

Both Bridges and Speed bring great size as corners, listed at 6’2” and 6’3” respectively. But with so many returning and new prospects for CB in camp this year, either will have to be a surprise this summer to move into the roster bubble.
