The next Barcelona match is upon us! The Blaugrana return to La Liga action after the international break with a home game against Catalan rivals Girona, and Hansi Flick has called up the following 23
players for Saturday’s clash:
Goalkeepers: Wojciech Szczesny, Diego Kochen, Eder Aller
Defenders: Alejandro Balde, Ronald Araujo, Pau Cubarsí, Andreas Christensen, Gerard Martín, Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia, Jofre Torrents, Xavi Espart
Midfielders: Pedri, Fermín López, Marc Casadó, Frenkie de Jong, Marc Bernal, Dro Fernández
Forwards: Lamine Yamal, Marcus Rashford, Roony Bardghji, Toni Fernández, Juan Hernández
The big news for this one is the return of Lamine Yamal and Fermín López, who are back after missing the last few weeks through injury, but the good news stop there: the coach will be without Ferran Torres (hamstring) and Raphinha (hamstring) who are not quite ready to return yet, and Dani Olmo (calf) and Robert Lewandowski (hamstring) have been added to the long-term injury list along with Joan Garcia (knee), Marc-André ter Stegen (back) and Gavi (knee). The high number of injuries has forced Flick to look to La Masia, and the coach has called up full-back Xavi Espart and winger Juan Hernández for the first time to help make up the numbers for this one.
Predicted starting XI (4-2-3-1):
Szczesny; Kounde, Araujo, Cubarsí, Balde; Casadó, De Jong; Roony, Pedri, Fermín; Rashford
