Carmella hasn’t wrestled a match on television dating back to 2023, and her contract with WWE expired and wasn’t renewed in 2025. During her time away from professional wrestling, she’s had multiple children and dealt with some issues related to as much.
She’s back in the news today because she used the word “retirement” in a podcast, and folks reacted accordingly. She saw as much and took to her X account to clarify, though she was confusing about it:
“Lol I don’t know where this is all coming from. I’ve been retired since I got pregnant with Dimitri. Doesn’t mean I can’t come out of retirement though…”
Not long after, she followed up with this:
“You guys… My foot is healed. And I’m in hte best shape of my life…. definitely not retired.”
So she’s definitely not retired, unless she is.
You know how it goes in pro wrestling.
It wasn’t that long ago she was teasing coming back to throw down with an AEW talent using her signature moves. At least now we know she’s healthy enough to actually do that, per her own words.
Even if she is retired.
