The Las Vegas Raiders are waiting until after the Super Bowl to announce new head coach Klint Kubiak. It is expected to be announced on Monday, and the team will not be able to finalize the deal until after Sunday.
One reason the Raiders were able to secure Kubiak was Tom Brady. It was reported that they built a connection during the first interview, and Brady has met with Kubiak plenty of times, calling games for Fox Sports. His knowledge of and focus on football made him a prime target for the Silver
and Black, and they secured their top choice for the position.
While appearing on the Let’s Go! In a podcast, Brady was asked about Kubiak and explained what makes him such a strong play caller.
“Klint [Kubiak] has played to the strengths of that team (Seahawks), and last week’s game, I thought he did a lot of great things against a very talented Rams defense,” Brady said. “That’s what it took for them to win. I thought the Rams were a terrific team. That was a 50/50 game last week, I thought, in Seattle… It took a great Seattle effort in all three phases of the game to get the win, and that’s what it’s gonna take here in Santa Clara this weekend.”
Brady’s excitement about Kubiak’s ability to play to his team’s strengths is something he hopes will follow him to the Raiders. Kubiak has been known for this during his time as a playcaller. Raider Nation is happy to have a play caller who adjusts instead of being stubborn.
