Although it is common practice for FPL managers to invest heavily in premium forwards, finding a hidden gem in the mid-priced range can free up funds to strengthen other areas of your squad—so why not take advantage?
Today, we’ll look at four mid-priced forwards in Fantasy Premier League. While they may not be the top priority compared to big-name strikers, they are certainly worth at least a spot on your watchlist for the long season ahead.
We have now highlighted our best mid-priced forwards for FPL
gameweek 1 and the Premier League season as a whole.
João Pedro – Chelsea (£7.5m)
João Pedro showcased his immense potential at Brighton last season, and since his move to Chelsea, he has made an immediate impact—helping the team win the FIFA Club World Cup and displaying strong form in recent pre-season matches.
With Chelsea becoming an indomitable force in the league after several transfer windows of fine-tuning, João Pedro stands out as a player who could be a valuable long-term investment for FPL managers throughout the season.
Chris Wood – Nottingham Forest (£7.5m)
Scoring 20 goals last season despite an xG of just 13.42 highlights Chris Wood’s exceptional finishing ability. While he was never the first name on most FPL managers’ lists, he consistently proved the doubters wrong with goal after goal.
However, a potential concern for the coming season is Nottingham Forest’s participation in the Europa League, which could impact his league minutes.
At 33 years old, Wood may see more rotation, sharing game time with Taiwo Awoniyi and new signing Igor Jesus.
Benjamin Sesko – Man Utd (£7.5m)
Surprisingly, Šeško begins the FPL season at a relatively lower price compared to Gyökeres at £9m.
His physical presence and well-rounded skill set make him a constant threat in the penalty area—especially with the added support of Cunha and Mbeumo, alongside Bruno and Amad, at Manchester United.
At just 22, he may still need time to fully adapt and settle, but based on his previous performances, he is certainly worthy of at least a place on FPL managers’ watchlists.
Yoane Wissa – Brentford (£7.5m)
At this point, it remains uncertain whether Wissa will stay at Brentford, as several of his former teammates have moved to bigger stages, and he himself has requested a transfer.
Should Wissa remain at the G-tech Stadium, he is likely to take on an even greater role in Brentford’s attacking setup—particularly in set pieces and penalties—which could further build on his impressive tally of 18 goals and 6 assists from last season.
