The Minnesota Golden Gophers (4-2) draw their first Friday night matchup of the season when they host the No. 25-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-1) at 7 p.m. CST on Friday, Oct. 17, at Huntington Bank Stadium.

This Week’s Thoughts:
gopherguy05: The Huskers have a good offense. Minnesota will need to play their best defensive game of the season in the run game and the pass game. The Huskers are also really good against the pass, having allowed just two passing touchdowns all season. If the Gophers can’t figure out how to run the ball, this one unfortunately is not going our way unless we get a lot of turnovers.
GopherNation: If I had any confidence in the offensive line or run defense, I’d predict the sixth consecutive win over the Huskers. But I do not have this confidence.
Blake Ruane: See my opponent preview.
GoAUpher: If it weren’t for Robb Smith, P.J. Fleck would be undefeated against Nebraska. I hate predicting another loss, but Minnesota’s offense isn’t clicking and that’s a recipe for disaster against a 5-1 Nebraska team on a short week.
zipsofakron: Nebraska is coming back from the East Coast on a short week for another road game in a place they hate to play. The Gophers barely survived Purdue but I think they are familiar enough with themselves now to be ready to go on Friday.
Ustreet: Trap game.
mowe0018: Vibes are down, P.J.’s magic against Huskers runs out, and I have officially entered the reverse jinx phase of the season.
WhiteSpeedReceiver: I’m going to be in Gatlinburg, TN, on a family vacation and not focusing on this game at all. I hope Matt Rhule is a distraction and everyone has fun and gets a good workout. But if it goes poorly, I will probably wander off and live with some black bears.
wildcat00: I picked Nebraska? I hate myself now.
