The Indianapolis Colts and the Seattle Seahawks grabbed the headlines of the NFL news cycle Tuesday with a trade that sent six time All Pro guard Quenton Nelson to Seattle in exchange for a pair of draft picks.
Then, just a few hours later, the Colts and new general manager Ed Dodds continued the fire sale, sending a second over-30 player to the NFC West, according to a report from NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
DeForest Buckner spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the 49ers, before being traded to the Colts in March of 2020. Buckner made two Pro Bowls while playing for Indianapolis, but after missing just two games due to injury over the first eight years of his career, he missed a combined 12 games over the past two seasons after hitting 30.
As Schultz notes in the post, the 49ers are sending a fourth round pick to the Colts as compensation.
