We thought we were going to see Braves ace Chris Sale take the mound Sunday night, attempting to send the team’s best-of-five NLDS against the Los Angeles Dodgers back to Atlanta tied at 1 win apiece.
For whatever reason (we never may know the truth), that wasn’t to be. Sale isn’t starting today and may not pitch at all in this game, leaving Atlanta to turn to Ray Kerr, the hero of Game 3 of the wild-card series against the Phillies, to serve as an opener.
Los Angeles, meanwhile, is throwing Blake
Snell, who spent much of the season injured but has been in form of late since returning in August.
What’s the Braves’ plan beyond Kerr? It’s likely gameflow-dependent.
Follow along and air your grievances as the Braves look to avoid a 2-0 hole which would be nigh impossible to dig their way out of.
