The Green Bay Packers do appear to have game-time decisions on their hands with a pair of their starting offensive linemen. On Friday’s formal injury report for the team’s season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, the Packers have given both left guard Aaron Banks and right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele the questionable status.
Bako-Bewele has been working through a knee issue and has been limited in practice all week. However, he did tell reporters earlier in the week that he expected to play on Sunday,
and to play a full game. Meanwhile, Banks’ knee tendinitis has kept him in and out of practice throughout training camp and left him limited through this week’s practices as well. If he cannot suit up, look for 5th-round rookie Jager Burton to play in his place.
A third player, linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper, is also questionable for the game with an Achilles tendon issue. Only one player has been ruled out: defensive tackle Warren Brinson, who injured his calf in warmups ahead of the Packers’ preseason finale and has not practiced since.
On the good news front, several other key Packers are expected to play and do not have an injury status for Sunday’s game. Left tackle Jordan Morgan is one of those players, having been limited on Wednesday with a knee issue but practiced fully the rest of the week. Meanwhile, key defensive pieces Barryn Sorrell, Javon Hargrave, and Devonte Wyatt were all limited throughout the week with various maladies but all have been given no injury status and should be good to go.
The Vikings, meanwhile, have no players listed with any injury statuses on their report, giving them a full complement of players on their 53-man roster.
