Jamal Musiala is more than just another attacking option for Bayern Munich. At his best, he is the kind of player who can make a predictable attack dangerous, turn a tight space into a scoring opportunity, and give opposing defenses a problem they cannot solve with structure alone.
That is precisely why Bayern needs him back at full strength.
There have been early signs that Bayern’s frontline could use a spark this season. Even a talented attack can become easier to contain when its movement and creativity
begin to lose their edge. Musiala offers something different: close control, improvisation, the ability to beat a defender in tight spaces, and the vision to connect teammates in dangerous areas.
His health-related absences have made his return to that level an important question for the club. Uli Hoeneß acknowledged the concern surrounding Musiala’s illness — as captured by @iMiaSanMia via @WELTAMSONNTAG) — while expressing confidence in the medical team and emphasizing that Bayern stands firmly behind the player.
“Jamal knows that we stand behind him one hundred percent,” Hoeneß said.
That support matters. Getting back to full strength is not simply about rushing Musiala onto the pitch. His health must come first, and his recovery should be guided by the professionals responsible for his care. But there is every reason for Bayern to want to give him the time and support needed to return as the player the club knows he can be.
Musiala’s value is not limited to goals and assists. He can unsettle defenses, create space for the players around him, and give Bayern another way to break down opponents when its usual attacking patterns are not working.
With Bayern’s frontline showing early signs of slowing down from their pace last season, Musiala’s return to his best could be a major boost. He does not have to carry the attack alone, but his ability to change a game could help make the entire frontline more dangerous.
The key is patience. Musiala’s potential remains enormous, but the priority is ensuring that he can return safely and build back toward his best level. Bayern has every reason to believe in what he can offer—and every reason to be careful about how it gets him there.
