Coastal Carolina is known for being unique in the college football landscape as the only FBS program that incorporates teal into its color scheme. But the Chanticleers are taking their uniqueness to another level with their Week 7 uniforms.
Coastal Carolina unveiled colorful 90s-themed jerseys for its upcoming Friday night home matchup against Appalachian State.
Coastal Carolina will don
its primary teal helmets and pants along with a new 90s-themed alternate jersey.
The jersey features a white base, a teal “COASTAL” across the chest, teal numbers printed on top of a giant pink triangle, and an assortment of colorful shapes, lines, and squiggles. According to Coastal Carolina, the theme is inspired by the aesthetics of 1990s television shows including Saved By The Bell, Boy Meets World, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Friends.
The shoulders feature a famous teal and purple scribble design known as “Jazz,” which was very prominent on paper cups and plates during the 1990s.
Coastal Carolina will showcase this unique 90s look Friday, Oct. 16 at Brooks Stadium. Kickoff against Appalachian State is slated for 8 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
Five fans attending the game will be selected to win a free jersey. After the game, these 90s-themed jerseys will be available for public purchase.
