Former Barcelona striker Thierry Henry was blown away by Wednesday’s thrashing of Newcastle and was full of praise for Hansi Flick’s side.
Barcelona roared into the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a devastating second-half performance that left Henry purring.
“What happened is not a victory, it is a global earthquake,” he said on CBS Sports. “What second half is this? A total transformation… A different personality… A lethal decision. This is the real Barcelona… When they want to, they can
do everything.”
“Newcastle have completely collapsed in the face of this offensive flow. To stop Barcelona like this? It’s almost impossible!”
Henry also spoke about how Barcelona improved in the second half to take the game away from Newcastle.
“The difference is clear… In the second half they played calmly, patiently and intelligently,” he added. “The result was a terrible and irresistible offensive exhibition. This is the face of Barcelona with Hansi Flick. Congratulations, Barcelona… Europe is beginning to feel the danger.”
Barcelona will now face Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals in an all-La Liga affair.
