Jorge Masvidal finally won a fight … but it wasn’t inside the cage or ring.
“Gamebred” scored a $5,315,268.64 judgement against Fanmio for nonpayment of services in his Nate Diaz boxing match back in summer
2024, according to MMA Fighting. Masvidal, 40, was paid $1 million (plus a $150,000 advance) for the troubled pay-per-view (PPV) card, well short of his guaranteed $6 purse.
Does that mean Masvidal will finally get paid?
Probably not, since the PPV returned “horrible numbers” because “nobody bought the fight.” In addition, Fanmio CEO, Solomon Engel, threatened to declare bankruptcy after facing a second lawsuit from Diaz, who was also stiffed in the wake of his “Last Man Standing” performance.
Maybe he should have considered this offer instead.
Masvidal has not competed in MMA since losing to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 in early 2023, but continues to angle for an Octagon comeback. As for Diaz, also 40, he bailed on MMA back in late 2022 and has remained on the sidelines ever since his “Gamebred” win in “The Golden State.”
