Newcastle United have joined a five-team race to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, with the Blues now open to a loan deal that will inevitably include a mandatory purchase next summer, according to the Daily Mail.
Chelsea’s preference remains a permanent transfer, but with limited time left in the window, the Blues are willing to allow other clubs to go for an initial loan provided there is a binding obligation to buy in July 2026.
The 24-year-old Senegal forward has been on the market throughout
the summer and told Chelsea he was open to leaving earlier this month.
Newcastle’s pursuit of a striker has already seen two bids for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Jorgen Strand Larsen rejected in the past week, and a third approach is already on the Wolves’ table.
Yoane Wissa of Brentford also remains a target, but talks have stalled over his £60m valuation, and a transfer is looking unlikely to happen at this point.
Jackson, meanwhile, has attracted interest from Bayern Munich, Napoli, and Aston Villa, in addition to Newcastle. According to Daily Mail, Bayern have held talks over a potential loan, but Chelsea insist any departure must involve a guaranteed purchase clause, which Bayern might be hesitant to be convinced about.
Since joining Chelsea in 2023, Jackson has scored 30 goals in 81 appearances across all competitions.
