
For Spencer Strider, though the Braves lost the game 2-1 to the Marlins, Monday night was all about positive strides. In terms of process, Strider still had his struggles and is still a ways away from where he wants to be. However, he did show a different approach than in recent starts, relying less on the fastball in general. And the overall results, 95 pitches across 7 innings and only 1 run around, were certainly encouraging.
And for Strider, that end results in this case are more important than
the process. He did his job, something Strider takes great pride in. Further adjustments will be made and more struggles will occur, but Strider needed a good start as he is in the final stretch of his season. Hopefully, he will be able to produce some more promising results before the season ends.
