Happy Sunday and welcome to Week 7 of the NFL season!
This is a big day for the Cleveland Browns as they look to avoid a stumble against the one-win Tennessee Titans.
In addition to watching the first-place Browns, there is scoreboard watching to be done:
- By the time the Browns kick off, they will know the outcome of Pittsburgh’s game against New Orleans in Paris.
- Cincinnati is at Baltimore, and as long as the game does not end in a tie, either the Bengals or Ravens will take their second division loss of the season.
- In what will be a weekly occurrence, it is worth checking out what the Los Angeles Rams are up to, as the Browns own Los Angeles’ first-round selection in the 2027 NFL Draft. The Rams are riding a two-game losing streak as they face the Las Vegas Raiders, who have lost three in a row as their schedule has grown more difficult.
It is going to be another fun day, so be sure to stay with Dawgs By Nature as we will have all the angles covered, from the pregame inactives, through the game, and the postgame results.
Let’s kick the day off with today’s edition of the Sunday Dawg
Chow.
Dawgs By Nature
Browns: Is the 2027 QB plan going up in flames? (Thomas Moore): If the Browns keep winning, can Deshaun Watson play himself back into the plan for next season?
Browns roster: Dylan Sampson activated among 3 moves; good sign for injured star defenders (Jared Mueller): Finally some good news for the Browns as it relates to injuries.
Giving Browns DT Mike Hall Jr. even more retroactive respect for Week 4’s sack (Jared Mueller): Hall has the talent. He just needs to get the availability part of the equation down.
NFL Week 7: 3 other games for Browns fans to keep an eye on (Jared Mueller): While you are watching the Browns on Sunday, keep an eye on these games as well.
NFL predictions: With the defense cooking, will the Browns-Titans matchup be put to bed early? (Chris Pokorny): A Cleveland victory that does not come down to the wire? Is that allowed?
Browns-Titans fantasy and prop bets: Bet on a returning Dylan Sampson (Chris Pokorny): If you are betting on Sunday, perhaps throw a sawbuck on Dylan Sampson.
Browns vs. Titans weather forecast: Nashville at the end of October is cooperating (Chris Pokorny): Late October in Nashville is apparently very nice.

Cleveland Browns
How Browns offensive line may face stiffest test yet from Titans (Beacon Journal): It will be a long day if the offensive line is not up to the task.
Dare we say it? The Browns are … watchable? (Terry Pluto): Yes, yes they are!
Why Jared Verse isn’t frustrated despite not having a sack through six games (Browns Zone): Because sacks are only a small part of determining a player’s value.
Why Deshaun Watson must start faster; Shedeur Sanders will still be No. 2 when Dillon Gabriel is back; how Denzel Ward hurt his hand (cleveland.com): There is a lot going on here. Maybe pour yourself a second cup of coffee before clicking through to the story.
NFL
Fernando Mendoza is embracing being Raiders’ latest Hispanic QB (ESPN): The Raiders have a history here.
Lawrence McCutcheon, longtime Rams running back and executive, dies at 76 (The Athletic): A five-time Pro Bowl selection, McCutcheon was a mainstay of Los Angeles’ offense in the 1970s.
Dexter Lawrence has a plan for stopping Derrick Henry (Cincy Jungle): He could just watch game film of Cleveland’s defense, because they shut Henry down just last week!
