Marcus Rashford’s recent lack of minutes has got the Spanish press concerned about his future at Barcelona past the end of the current campaign.
The England international had been expected to stay at the club after a bright start to life in Catalunya but has faded from view a little bit recently, prompting fresh speculation about what happens next.
A new report from Marca is titled ‘Something’s going on with Rashford’ and highlights how he hasn’t played a single minute in Barcelona’s last two games.
Marca think it’s “strange” Flick hasn’t used him at all.
It’s also highlighted how his form has dipped at Barca. Rashford has three goals and one assist in his last 15 matches, compared to seven goals and eight assists in the previous 20.
The report adds that Barcelona are still “closely monitoring Abde and Virgili” as well as scouting Benfica star Andreas Schjelderup.
Diario AS are also talking about Rashford’s recent lack of minutes and claim “the continuity of the English striker could be in danger” – nothing that he’s likely to continue on the bench due to Raphinha’s return to fitness and form.
A few weeks ago it seemed that Rashford’s continuity at Barcelona was virtually assured but now the tone has changed. Rashford will hope for minutes against Rayo at the weekend and will then link up with the England squad for friendlies against Uruguay and Japan.
