Albuquerque Isotopes super-utility player Cole Carrigg (No. 4 PuRP) has been named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week for April 27-May 3, 2025.
Given the week he had, the accolade was certainly earned.
Last week, the Isotopes played the El Paso Chihuahuas with Carrigg starting all six games. During the matchup, he went 14-for-24 (.583), including two doubles, a triple, homer, eight RBI and four stolen bases.
Over the course of the series, Carrigg led the PCL in runs scored (11) and stolen bases (4), and tied for first in hits (14) and third with 21 total bases. On Saturday, Carrigg went 4-for-5 with four runs scored and five RBI, tying career highs in all three categories.
As if that’s not impressive enough, Carrigg is also carrying a 24-game on-base streak, which ties for the fourth-longest active streak in MiLB. In addition, Carrigg also has a 13-game hitting streak, which ties for the second-longest active streak in MiLB.
In 2024, he received the “Player of the Week” award three times while with the High-A Spokane Indians in the Northwest League.
Carrigg is the first Albuquerque player to be named Player of the Week since Keston Hiura during the first week of August 2025.
In a season when Carrigg is focused on “honing his professionalism,” the work appears to be paying off.
Carrigg was not the only Rockies prospect to receive attention for this on-field performance last week.
Spokane Indians LHP Everett Catlett has been named the Northwest League Pitcher of the Week. for the week of April 27-May 3, 2025. Catlett earned the win in his outing on May 1 after allowing two hits over six scoreless innings while striking out a career-high 11.
The 23 year old has gone 2-2 with a 3.80 ERA (23.2 IP, 10 ER) and 32 strikeouts in five games (four starts) for the Indians. Catlett was drafted by the Rockies in the 12th round of the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
