Storylines intersected on AEW Collision (Aug. 15, 2026) to deliver the line of the night from Christian Cage. Also of interest, Will Ospreay needs friends from Japan. How are these two things related? Gather around to connect the dots.
First up was Ospreay. AEW booked him into a trios match against the Callis Family for Dynamite. Ospreay has no real friends on the roster right now, so he decided to phone some bruvs in Japan. Ospreay said he would call his United Empire mates from NJPW, but he didn’t
know how Callum Newman would respond.
We didn’t get follow up on how Callum received Ospreay, but he was right that Henare and Francesco Akira would be cool. AEW confirmed them as Ospreay’s partners against Brian Cage, Rocky Romero, and Lance Archer.
Kenny Omega is in the same boat as Ospreay with a trios match for Dynamite against the crap stain on the underpants of life, also known as the Callis Family. The world champ’s partners will be the Young Bucks against Jake Doyle, Mark Davis, and El Clon. This is where Christian comes in. Adam Copeland brought his surly buddy to question if the Bucks were truly focused on their dream match for All In. While bickering about the loss at Grand Slam Mexico, Matt Jackson said the Cope and Christian are old enough to be his father. Christian deadpanned, “Who says I’m not?” That line made me lose it with laughter. Commentary agreed that it was the line of the night. I hope we get an episode of BTE trying to fact-check if Christian could be their father.
The common thread for all of this is setting up Dynamite. The lineup for August 19 includes:
